My name is Jia Min, Joshua Luo Kai Yue’s wife. It has been more than 5 years since my husband, Joshua Luo Kai Yue died in Tibet in August 9, 2002. Today I have made this web site simply to mourn for my husband, who had been engaged in tour work for about 20 years, devoting his life to his beloved tour work, especially bird watching. When he was alive, he had prepared to make a web site for his own tour business, but it is a pity that he had passed away when he had not finished it. So today I do it instead of him and realize unfulfilled wishes.
Joshua Luo Kai Yue is a good husband to me and a caring father to our daughter, and a respectable tour guide and organizer to his clients just like people said as follows:
Mark Beaman from Birdquest US (Sept.11,2002):
“Luo was a great friend to me over many years, ever since we first tour together through Sichuan in 1988(at the beginning of which he was not aware of birds).I shall always remember his endless cheerfulness, love of life, enquiring mind and his kindness to everyone. He was a very special man…”
C. Y. Lam(Lin Chao Ying), from The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society Ltd. Said like this(Oct.4, 2002):
“All the birders in Hong Kong who have met Joshua in our years of Chinese travel admire him for his devotion to his work and his affinity with Nature. He is the best nature guide in the whole of China and his departure is a irreplaceable loss for China, at a time when the country needs many more people like him to help the world appreciate the natural beauty of China. Joshua has traveled with me on a couple of occasions and has helped arrange several more. I saw in him the hope for China. I miss him…”
Mike Kilburn (Autumn 2002):
“It was with great sadness that many Hong Kong birders learned of Joshua’s death in a road accident in Tibet. He was a pioneer in establishing bird tours in Sichuan, Qinghai and Tibet and was widely recognized as having the best understanding of what is involved in arranging the logistics for a successful birding trip. He has almost certainly helped more people to see more top quality Chinese birds than anyone else…”
Thank all friends for paying so high tribute to my husband. In order to complete what my husband wanted to do but had not done, I decided to continue his work after his departure. Over the past 5 years, we have successfully organized some birding tours to some parts of China cooperated with BIRDQUEST in UK, VENT in US, KINGBIRDTOURS in US, and individual birders from Europe, Australia, etc, and some sightseeing tour groups in Sichuan, Qinghai, Tibet, Xinjiang, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Liaoning Gansu and so on.
I believe my husband’s business will continue to grow smoothly because we have a good team: excellent drivers, responsible guides£¬friendly cooperators everywhere. My husband’s spirit is inspiring us to do his business better and better. We are sure we will provide each client with first-class service.
Thank all our friends from across the world for supporting, encouraging, taking care of and helping my daughter and me, such as Mark Beaman and his wife Hilary Lee,
C. Y. Lam, Dion Hobcroft, Stephan. J. Schoech and his wife, my family, my Chinese friends, etc. Now my husband’s business is going on, and our daughter is studying in the best university in China. Thanks for all!
HAVE A GOOD REST, MY HUSBAND, JOSHUA LUO KAI YUE! |
