GANSU PROVINCE LABRANT MONASTERY Labrang Monastery is one of the six most famous Yellow Hat Monasteries and was founded in 1709. It has six Buddhist Institutes, 48 Prayer Halls with statues of Buddha¡¯s attached with resident rooms of Living Buddha¡¯s, and more than 500 resident buildings of the monks. By 1950,there are more than 3424 monks here, among them there were 68 Living Buddha¡¯s. Here, if you come according to the time we given below, you will have very good chances to join the great religious Tibetan New Year ceremonies here and admire the most famous Lama Dancing and Sun Bath of Buddha Tangkas. |
