Among the places you will cover, there are 11 minorities in Guangxi Province include Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Dong, Mulao, Maonan, Hui, Jing, Yi, Shui and Gelao. And during this tour you will visit the most tipical Maonan: more than 99% of them live inside Guangxi Province, especially Huangjiang and its vicinity areas. Maonan People call
themselves "Anan", which means the people who live in the Maonan areas. Always a very big group of families live together in one hamlet. Their houses are always tile-roofed, with two stories: people live in the upper floor and the ground floor always for keeping domestic animals and pile up sundries. Then you will visit the tipical Mulao People in Luocheng areas, in which more than 80% Mulao People live. For Mulao people, no matter how big the village or hamlet is, most of the people there are kins. They also live in tile-roofed houses, but with only one floor, and the house for domestic animals is not together with people's houses. Miao People are a very big minority. Miao has a population of about 8 million and about 380 different branches--that's why we will visit different Miaos in both Guangxi and Guizhou Provinces (we can also see other branches in Yunnan, Sichuan and Hunan province.) Miao People themselves have different dialects. Miao's houses are different from place to places, but the Miao people like to afforest their surroundings very much. There are always bamboos, flowers or fruit trees around their houses. Guizhou has 16 minorities, and minorities have a population of more than 10 millions, around 1/3 of the total population of Guizhou Province. Among all the minorites in Guizhou, the most colourful one should be Miao, that's why in the itinerary we arranged most of the time in Guizhou to visit different Miao--Basha Miao, Long-skirt Miao, Multi-embroidered Miao, etc. and watch the different Miao Dance and folksongs.
