This route covers a very large part of the old Tibet provinces of Kham and Amdo, and offers a side of Tibet, which is rarely seen on the other programs. It is based on two of the great journeys that the French mystic and adventurer Alexandra David Neel made in 1912 and 1918 during the course of her life long fascination with the Tibetan Plateau. Overall, the program is an ideal opportunity to experience the mountain trekking expedition and Tibetan culture discovery. Day 1: Arrive Chengdu: Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province. It has a history of more than 2,500 years. It¡¯s area is 12,000 squarekm, with a population of 9 million. Visit the open markets and it's traditional tea houses. Visit the Sichuan Embroidery Factory and admiring how the workers there working in the traditional way. Overnight at Chengdu Hotel Day 2:Chengdu: Dufu's Thatched Cottage, the Bamboo Park and Temple of Manjury. Overnight at Chengdu Hotel Day 3:Chengdu to Ya'an (150km):Drive through fertile farmlands. Visit a marblefactory if have time. Overnight at Yaan Hotel Day 4:Yaan to Dartsedo (230km):Drive into hill country, cross Erlang Mountainto the Tibet Gatetown of Dartsedo: Dartsedor is the historic border town and gateway to Tibet. Visit Ngachu Monastery, Local Market and have hot spring bath. Overnight at Kangding Hotel Day 5:Dartsedo to Dawu(240km):Visit Pel Lhagon Monastery while pass through Lhagon Town. Overnight at Dawu Hotel Day 6:Dawu to Kanze (160km):Past the peaks of Khawalunger, and over high nomadic pasture to Kanze Monastery. Overnight at Jeykundo Hotel Day12: Jeykundo: Explore more of the town, the traditional market and the famous monastery. Overnight at Jeykundo Hotel Day13: Jeykundo to Qingshuihe: Cross the upper Yangtze to Shewu with its impressive rock-Face Sakya Monastery.Overnight at Qingshuihe Hotel Day14: Qingshuihe to Maqin: This is the very small village at the Amnye Machin.The group arrive Maqin, get prepared. Overnight at Labrang Hotel Day28: Labrang Monastery:Visiting Fifth Largest Yellow Hat Monastery on the Tibetan plateau. Labraang attracts pilgrim from all over the Amdo. Whole day to explore the many temples and prayers halls, and the colorful bazaar. Overnight at Labrang Hotel Day29: Labrang to Lanzhou(230km):Lunch at the important Islamic center of Linxia.
